Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in positioning UNFPA as a catalyst for corporate-led social impact, particularly in the realm of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The primary objective is to strengthen corporate engagement in SRHR by encouraging businesses to align their strategies with broader social responsibility goals. This includes integrating health and well-being considerations into corporate sustainability frameworks and supporting companies in adopting relevant indicators and initiatives that promote inclusive workplace policies. The consultant will also work to expand multi-stakeholder partnerships, fostering public-private partnerships with corporations and philanthropic organizations to scale up investments in SRHR. Additionally, the consultant will facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation, showcasing UNFPA’s impact and exploring innovative financing mechanisms for reproductive health initiatives. The consultancy will involve comprehensive planning, execution of events, and strategic recommendations for future engagement with the private sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for several key tasks throughout the consultancy period. In the pre-roundtable phase, the consultant will develop a comprehensive strategy and action plan for the private sector roundtable, including creating detailed concept notes and agendas for the pre-sessions and main roundtable. The consultant will conduct a thorough review of potential corporate and philanthropic partners, assessing their current engagement in social impact initiatives to identify strategic partners. During the field trip and roundtable phase, the consultant will ensure smooth implementation of the program, moderate discussions, and facilitate interactions among participants to enhance collaboration. In the post-roundtable phase, the consultant will prepare a detailed report summarizing key discussions, outcomes, and stakeholder feedback, along with strategic recommendations for integrating findings into UNFPA's private sector engagement strategy. The consultant will also support the negotiation of partnership agreements and encourage private sector organizations to become members of the Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Business (CRJB).

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in public policy, development studies, social science, management, or a related field. A minimum of ten years of international experience in public policy, strategic planning, and program management is required. Candidates should have substantial experience in women's studies, business management, or a related field, along with a deep understanding of the local context and familiarity with UNFPA programs in the Philippines. Demonstrated expertise in private sector engagement and women's economic empowerment is essential, as well as strong analytical, research, and communication skills. The ability to synthesize complex information and convey insights effectively is crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in public policy, development studies, social science, management, or any other relevant field of study is required. Candidates with substantial experience in women's studies, business management, or related fields will be given preference. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in the principles of social responsibility, corporate governance, and reproductive health.

Experience:
The position requires at least ten years of international experience in public policy, strategic planning, and program management. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with private sector organizations and engaging in initiatives that promote women's rights and reproductive health. Experience in facilitating partnerships and collaborations among diverse stakeholders, including corporations, foundations, and government agencies, is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within UNFPA and for the consultancy. Knowledge of Filipino or other local languages would be advantageous but is not a requirement. Strong communication skills in both written and spoken formats are essential for effective engagement with stakeholders.

The consultancy will consist of 30 person-days spread over a three-month period, beginning as soon as the contract is signed and concluding by June 30, 202
  • The consultant will be expected to deliver electronic copies of reports on specified due dates, with a payment schedule linked to the completion of deliverables. The consultant's mission to the Philippines is scheduled from June 5 to June 12, 2025, with potential additional visits in April or May. Travel costs, including DSA, airfare, and incidentals, will be covered by UNFPA in addition to the consultancy fee.
