Job Overview:
The Livelihoods and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security (LFS) Coordinator position is crucial for leading the implementation of LFS projects in conflict-affected areas of Southern Ukraine. The role involves overseeing the planning, design, and supervision of all LFS activities conducted by NRC in the relevant areas. The LFS Coordinator is expected to ensure that all activities contribute to the overall country and program strategy, particularly focusing on livelihood provisioning and protection to ensure basic economic and food production security. Responsibilities include planning and implementing various activities such as in-kind distributions, nutrition-sensitive programming, sustainable agriculture, and economic inclusion initiatives, as well as managing Cash & Voucher Assistance (CVA) programs. The coordinator will work closely with the cash and markets team and report to the line manager, ensuring adherence to NRC standards and national regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The LFS Coordinator will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
  • Implementing the delegated LFS project portfolio according to the action plan.
  • Preparing and developing status reports as required by management.
  • Ensuring proper filing of documents.
  • Targeting beneficiaries most in need and exploring new ways to assist.
  • Supporting all LFS team members in project activities.
  • Developing and implementing high-quality program activities.
  • Promoting and sharing ideas for improvement in activities. Specific responsibilities include coordinating technical assessments, supporting the distribution of LFS-related inputs, ensuring projects are directed to the target population, participating in field-level coordination with community stakeholders, coordinating with logistics and finance teams, drafting reports and proposals, providing technical inputs, ensuring transparency in information management, contributing to feedback and best practices, training other LFS staff, and supporting the development of area-based emergency response strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university-level education in fields related to business, financial inclusion, agriculture, development, nutrition, sustainability, employability, or food security. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in LFS, ideally in a coordination role, is required. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and skills in LFS-related analysis, Cash and Voucher Programming (CVA), microenterprise business start-ups, savings and financing, and agricultural programs. Documented results related to the position's responsibilities are essential, along with excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Candidates must be able to work under pressure, independently, and comply with basic security rules, demonstrating proven leadership skills and a good understanding of humanitarian compliance and accountability.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as business, agriculture, development, or nutrition is required. Candidates should have a strong academic background that supports their understanding of the complexities involved in livelihoods and food security programming.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in livelihoods and food security, ideally in a coordination role. Experience working in complex and volatile contexts is essential, as well as experience with humanitarian organizations, private sector, donors, or international agencies. Familiarity with working with vulnerable groups and demonstrating conflict sensitivity is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is essential for this position, along with good proficiency in English, both written and verbal. These language skills are crucial for effective communication and coordination in the role.

This position is open to candidates who have the legal right to work in Ukraine. The organization is unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships for this position.
