Job Overview: The position of PR-Volontär*in in Unternehmenskommunikation is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the field of corporate communication within GIZ. This 24-month training program will immerse you in various aspects of corporate communication, including editorial tasks such as writing articles for internal platforms, managing digital web presences, and crafting social media posts. You will also be involved in developing communication campaigns, responding to journalist inquiries, and assisting in media events. The role requires collaboration on communication concepts, advising staff on communication matters, and evaluating communication formats and products. Additionally, you will support the planning and organization of events and contribute to the production of internal and external media. This position offers a unique opportunity to understand the principles of branding and the unified corporate appearance of GIZ.
Duties and Responsibilities: As a PR-Volontär*in, your responsibilities will include:
Learning about the various areas of corporate communication within GIZ.
Engaging in editorial activities such as writing articles for internal and external platforms.
Creating and managing content for social media channels.
Developing and implementing communication campaigns.
Researching and responding to inquiries from journalists.
Supporting the organization and execution of media events.
Collaborating on communication strategies and concepts.
Advising colleagues on communication-related issues.
Evaluating the effectiveness of communication formats and products. 1

Contributing to the production of internal and external media materials. 1
Gaining insights into the branding and corporate identity of GIZ.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have successfully completed a university degree in humanities or social sciences, with a focus on communication or related fields. Practical experience in the communication sector, whether through internships or previous employment in agencies, companies, or media, is essential. A strong interest in development cooperation and familiarity with relevant topics is highly desirable. Candidates should possess excellent language skills, digital competencies, and a strong affinity for writing. A proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are also required.
Educational Background: A completed university degree in humanities or social sciences is required for this position. The focus should ideally be on communication, public relations, or a related field. Candidates should have a solid academic background that supports their understanding of communication strategies and practices.
Experience: Candidates should have some practical experience in the communication field, which can be gained through internships, volunteer work, or previous employment in relevant sectors such as agencies, corporate communication departments, or media organizations. This experience should ideally provide insights into the workings of communication in a professional context.
Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage in international communication efforts.

The main training will take place in Bonn and Eschborn, with opportunities to learn about GIZ's work in a partner country, subject to current safety and health conditions. The selection process is scheduled for May 2025.
