Job Overview: The Project Support Consultant position is designed to provide essential support to the IASC ProCap and GenCap projects, which focus on enhancing protection and gender equality in humanitarian responses. The consultant will play a critical role in the Courage in Crisis peer learning initiative, which aims to document and utilize learning from previous training and simulation exercises to improve future iterations. The consultant will be responsible for revising training content, integrating Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) considerations into simulation designs, and ensuring effective communication between senior management and operational teams. This role also involves developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline project processes, creating induction packages for hosting agencies, and engaging with various stakeholders to strengthen project outcomes. The consultant will support the overall project management and linkages between different initiatives, ensuring that the projects meet their objectives effectively and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Support Consultant include:
Documenting learning from previous Courage in Crisis exercises and contributing to the revision of training content and methodology.
Collaborating with project teams to integrate PSEA considerations into simulation designs.
Liaising with PSEA stakeholders to enhance the UN's response to sexual exploitation and abuse.
Collating and making available preparatory materials on protection, gender, and PSEA approaches.
Backstopping the development of online training modules to complement in-person methodologies.
Coordinating logistics for additional training iterations in 202
Ensuring streamlined communication between senior management and operations during critical deployment phases.
Supporting the development of SOPs to improve operational efficiency.
Assisting in the creation of an induction package for hosting agencies. 1
Engaging with IASC members and key partners to strengthen project ownership. 1
Organizing events related to the projects and supporting resource mobilization strategies. 1

Required Qualifications: The position requires an advanced university degree in political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, engineering, earth sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. The candidate must have experience in project management within IASC structures, stakeholder engagement, and the development of SOPs. Strong analytical and writing skills are essential for conveying complex issues to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and donors. Experience in leading simulations and training sessions on gender, protection, and PSEA is also required, along with the ability to engage with senior leadership in field offices and track project progress.
