Job Overview:
The Analyst, Environmental & Social IPAM Compliance position is a critical role within the Independent Project Accountability Mechanism (IPAM) team at the EBRD. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about environmental and social compliance and have a strong background in research, stakeholder engagement, and case management. The primary function of this position is to support the compliance function by conducting case assessments, engaging with stakeholders, and drafting reports that evaluate the alignment of projects with the Bank's Environmental and Social Policy and Access to Information Policy. The Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that the EBRD's projects meet the highest environmental and social standards, contributing to the overall mission of accountability and transparency in development projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include: conducting thorough research and document reviews related to environmental and social compliance cases; assisting in case assessments and compliance reviews while coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders; drafting essential case-related materials such as reports, timelines, and summaries; supporting logistical planning for site visits and stakeholder meetings; proofreading reports to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to policy standards; liaising with project-affected communities, civil society organizations, and international accountability bodies; assisting in the development of outreach materials and participating in engagement activities; coordinating meetings and calls with stakeholders to ensure effective communication; contributing to internal knowledge sharing and best practices within IPAM; and staying updated on international environmental and social safeguards and accountability mechanisms.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Analyst position must possess a degree in Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Human Rights, International Development, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have experience in compliance, audit, ESG, or case management, preferably within an international institution. Strong research and analytical skills are essential, along with experience in handling sensitive cases. Familiarity with international development bank policies, such as EBRD Environmental & Social Performance Requirements, IFC Performance Standards, and World Bank Environmental and Social Standards (ESSs) is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages such as Russian or Arabic is considered a plus. Candidates should also demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, high ethical standards, integrity, and neutrality, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Human Rights, International Development, or a closely related discipline. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of environmental and social compliance and for effectively engaging with stakeholders in various contexts.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in compliance, audit, ESG, or case management.
