Job Overview: The Results Based Management Specialist will play a crucial role in strengthening the results-based management framework within the CEB. This position involves the timely submission of high-quality analyses and written outputs, including concept notes, proposals, and strategic documents. The specialist will be responsible for improving monitoring and evaluation guidelines and tools, providing guidance and training on assessments, and enhancing financial monitoring dashboards. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that project data is systematically compiled and analyzed for effective reporting and decision-making. The specialist will also support independent project evaluations and coordinate follow-ups, ensuring that reports meet results-based standards and are delivered on time. Additionally, the specialist will contribute to the visibility of CEB achievements and support fundraising efforts through the development of appealing proposals and donor reports.
Duties and Responsibilities: The specialist will be responsible for the following duties:
Ensure high-quality and timely submission of analyses and written outputs, including concept notes, proposals, and strategic documents.
Improve monitoring and evaluation guidelines and tools to enhance project effectiveness.
Provide guidance and training on pre- and post-training assessments to strengthen project outcomes.
Elaborate and provide guidance on improving the CEB's financial monitoring dashboards.
Regularly compile, revise, and store CEB project data in a systematic and retrievable manner.
Systematically categorize and analyze project data for reporting, planning, and strategic decision-making.
Support independent project evaluations and coordinate follow-up actions as necessary.
Ensure that CEB global programme reports meet results-based standards and are submitted on time.
Submit monthly reports on the progress and completion of work assignments to the supervisor. 1
Develop communication and visibility products to highlight CEB achievements and support fundraising initiatives. 1
Ensure that donor reports meet results-based standards and are submitted in a timely manner. 1
Support donor and steering committee meetings to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, economics, criminology, journalism, or social science (including international relations, management, public administration, political science, or social anthropology). Alternatively, a first-level university degree in similar fields combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates should have at least ten years of working experience in project management, outreach, donor reporting, and resource mobilization. Experience in monitoring and reporting is essential, along with a strong background in drafting results-based project reports for donors and other stakeholders. Experience at the international level and in developing countries is desirable, as is proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, including power query and macro creation.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as law, economics, criminology, journalism, or social science is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields may be accepted if combined with additional qualifying experience. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of project management and the legal and economic frameworks relevant to combating corruption.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of relevant working experience in supporting project management, outreach, donor reporting, and resource mobilization. This experience should include a strong focus on monitoring and reporting, as well as drafting results-based project reports for various stakeholders. Experience working at the international level and in developing countries is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced in these contexts.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is required for this position, as English is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official United Nations language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an advantage and may enhance a candidate's profile.
