Job Overview:
The position of Special Class Instructor at the UN Wellness Centre (UNWC) involves providing specialized fitness instruction to UN staff members and the diplomatic community. The UNWC is committed to meeting the health and fitness needs of its members by offering a variety of classes, including Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, Tai Chi, and other wellness programs. The instructor will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment that promotes fitness and well-being. This role requires not only teaching classes but also preparing the fitness space, advising clients on health matters, and promoting fitness programs to enhance membership engagement. The instructor will report directly to the UNWC Manager and work collaboratively with the events team to facilitate fitness-related events and workshops, ensuring a comprehensive approach to wellness for all participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Special Class Instructor include: teaching various fitness classes such as Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, and other wellness classes; preparing the indoor and outdoor spaces for classes, ensuring they are equipped and suitable for client use; promoting fitness classes to both members and non-members to increase or sustain membership; maintaining a client database for reference; advising clients on health and fitness-related matters; planning, organizing, and facilitating fitness-related events, workshops, and wellness activities; coordinating with the events team to manage logistics and event promotion; assisting in developing marketing materials and schedules; collaborating with the event team to ensure successful execution of events; and gathering feedback from participants to improve future events and fitness programs.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Special Class Instructor position include a High School Certificate and a certification in one or more of the following areas: Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching these fitness classes in a reputable organization or setting. Knowledge of fitness products and equipment is also required to effectively instruct clients and ensure their safety during workouts.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a High School Certificate. Furthermore, they should hold a certification in fitness instruction for the specific classes they will be teaching, such as Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics. This educational background ensures that instructors are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality fitness instruction.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching fitness classes such as Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics. This experience should be gained in a reputable organization or setting, demonstrating the candidate's ability to effectively lead classes and engage with clients in a fitness environment.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication with clients, colleagues, and during the facilitation of events and workshops. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the instructor's ability to connect with a diverse clientele.
