Job Overview:
The position of Architect/Civil Engineer for Housing Rehabilitation Assistance involves providing technical support and expertise in the rehabilitation of housing in the regions of Konjic and Mostar. The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing housing conditions, developing rehabilitation plans, and ensuring that the projects comply with local regulations and standards. The role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, architectural design, and project management. The candidate will work closely with local authorities, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful implementation of housing rehabilitation projects. This position is crucial for improving living conditions and supporting community resilience in the affected areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of housing conditions in Konjic and Mostar to identify rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop detailed rehabilitation plans that include architectural designs, engineering specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the implementation of rehabilitation projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of rehabilitation works, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to project activities, including progress reports and financial statements.
  • Engage with beneficiaries to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into rehabilitation plans.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of local building regulations and standards in Bosnia and Herzegovina is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering is required. A Master’s degree in a related field will be considered an asset. Candidates should have completed relevant coursework in construction management, sustainable design, and urban planning. Professional certifications or licenses in architecture or engineering will enhance the candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in architecture or civil engineering, specifically in housing rehabilitation or construction projects. Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion, including budget management and stakeholder engagement, is essential.

Languages:

Additional Notes:
This position is a consultancy role with a contract duration from 20 March 2025 to 20 March 2026, allowing for up to 40 consultancy days.
