Job Overview:
The Movement Operations Officer (Field Support) plays a crucial role in overseeing the operational aspects of migration assistance provided by IOM. This position involves managing field activities related to the organized movement of individuals requiring international migration assistance. The officer will supervise multiple teams engaged in various tasks at airports, transit centers, and other facilities, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and effectively. The role requires a strong focus on staff development, quality assurance, and adherence to IOM's ethical standards. The officer will also be responsible for liaising with external partners and ensuring that the needs of migrants, including those with special requirements, are met. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity and quality of IOM's movement operations, which are fundamental to the organization's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Movement Operations Officer (Field Support) will oversee up to four teams of staff members engaged in field activities, ensuring high-quality service delivery at airports and transit centers. Responsibilities include managing airport services, monitoring work schedules, processing financial paperwork, and ensuring compliance with IOM standards. The officer will also oversee the coordination of services for meals and transportation, manage assets and inventories, and ensure that staff are trained to handle sensitive cases. Regular reporting to the Movement Operations Manager on activities and issues will be required, along with the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The officer will also be responsible for incident reporting and ensuring that all staff conduct themselves according to IOM's code of conduct.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Civil Aviation, Tourism, or a related field, along with two years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a University degree in the same fields with four years of relevant experience is acceptable. Previous experience in Movement Operations, particularly with IOM, is highly preferred. Knowledge of US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) and IOM's operational procedures is desirable. Strong communication skills and proficiency in relevant software applications are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or a University degree in fields related to business administration, international relations, civil aviation, or tourism. Accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database are preferred. The educational qualifications should be complemented by relevant professional experience in the field of migration operations or related areas.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in Movement Operations, particularly within IOM, which is highly preferred. Experience in supervising teams and providing guidance on operational procedures is essential. Familiarity with IOM's Movement Operations program implementation, as well as administrative, financial, and business practices, is also desirable. The role requires a demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively and manage operational challenges in a dynamic environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required for this position. A working knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an advantage. Proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as a Special Short Term Graded contract, with an initial duration of six months, extendable up to nine months. The role is categorized as a professional level position (P-2).
