The Program Consultant, Health Care position at the American Heart Association is a pivotal role aimed at enhancing the quality of care for patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases and strokes.   • Working with state health departments and regional authorities to improve cardiovascular care systems.
  • Documenting activities and interactions in customer relationship management tools, ensuring effective communication with the Director of Health Care Quality.
  • Traveling up to 10% for local and overnight engagements as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in healthcare settings. Experience in acute care hospitals, particularly in clinical quality or process improvement projects, is essential. Familiarity with Systems of Care and proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, are also required. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities are critical for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required, with equivalent work experience considered. Additional certifications such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or Certified Health Education Specialist are preferred but not mandatory. A clinical degree may also be advantageous for candidates.
