Job Overview: The Digital Communications Specialist role is a strategic position within the Global Communications team at MMC, focusing on managing the MMC website and contributing to the development and implementation of the organization's digital communication strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing user experience on the MMC website, utilizing SEO principles, and employing analytics tools to track performance across various platforms. The position requires a proactive approach to staying updated on emerging trends and best practices in digital marketing. The Digital Communications Specialist will work closely with the Global Communications Coordinator based in Geneva and the Communications Officer in Tunis, ensuring effective publication and dissemination of MMC's content, newsletters, and social media activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Digital Communications Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks including managing and maintaining the MMC website by updating content and ensuring its functionality and user-friendliness. They will implement technical improvements, including basic HTML/CSS adjustments and UX/UI enhancements, while monitoring website performance to optimize speed, responsiveness, and accessibility. The specialist will serve as the primary liaison with external web developers, managing updates and timelines effectively. They will track, analyze, and report on website performance, newsletter performance via MailChimp, and social media metrics using tools such as Google Analytics and Hotjar. The role involves providing data-driven recommendations based on user behavior and traffic trends, developing and managing Google Grants to enhance digital reach, and applying SEO techniques to improve visibility and organic traffic. Additionally, the specialist will assist in executing digital marketing strategies, monitor digital trends, coordinate with the communications team for content scheduling, and provide technical assistance for online events and webinars.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field, with a preference for studies specifically in digital communications, digital marketing, or web development. Those with degrees in other fields may be considered if they have substantial professional experience in digital communications and website management. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in website management, particularly in maintaining and updating WordPress content, is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of SEO principles and best practices, experience in optimizing website structure and navigation for user experience, and basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for minor adjustments. Proficiency in Google Analytics and familiarity with email marketing tools like Mailchimp are essential.
