Job Overview: The Communications Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively support the Sudan Regional Response Pooled Fund (SRRPF). Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Coordinator will be tasked with designing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for the SRRPF. Key responsibilities include generating compelling written and visual content that aligns with the fund’s messaging and humanitarian principles. The coordinator will produce various communication materials, such as press releases, success stories, and advocacy content. They will also plan and execute communication activities, campaigns, and events to highlight the fund’s achievements and facilitate learning. Additionally, the coordinator will capture and curate professional photographs using advanced camera equipment, and utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) to create high-quality visual assets. Building and maintaining relationships with regional media and global contacts is essential to ensure coverage of key initiatives. The coordinator will serve as a focal point for media during significant events or crises and may act as an alternate spokesperson for the SRRPF when delegated by the Fund Director. Furthermore, the coordinator will provide training on effective communication practices and ethical storytelling upon request.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a higher education degree in communications, journalism, international relations, or a related field. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in communication, journalism, and campaign management within the humanitarian or international development sectors is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong ability to generate impactful content and storytelling materials, with a solid understanding of humanitarian principles and ethical storytelling. Experience in producing communication/media products, both online and physical, is essential. Proficiency in photography and professional camera handling, including accessories, is also required. Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), as well as familiarity with AI technology, are necessary. Additionally, candidates should have a good understanding of regional and global media outlets and networks.
Educational Background: The position requires a higher education degree in communications, journalism, international relations, or a related field.
