The successful candidate will be expected to develop and implement MEAL frameworks, conduct training sessions for staff, and ensure compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive MEAL strategies and frameworks for ongoing and future projects.
Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to assess progress and gather data.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program effectiveness and impact.
Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations for program improvement.
Facilitate training workshops for staff on MEAL practices and tools.
Ensure that all MEAL activities are aligned with donor requirements and organizational policies.
Collaborate with program teams to integrate learning into project design and implementation.
Establish feedback mechanisms to ensure accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in MEAL and incorporate them into organizational practices. 1
Represent the organization in external meetings and forums related to MEAL.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of MEAL principles and practices. Proficiency in data analysis software and tools is essential. The ideal candidate should have experience in developing MEAL frameworks and conducting evaluations. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to convey findings and recommendations effectively. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. Candidates should have formal training in monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the non-profit sector. Experience working in Mali or similar contexts is highly desirable. Proven track record of managing MEAL processes for complex projects is essential.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Mali. Proficiency in English is an asset, as it may be required for reporting and communication with international stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages is a plus and can enhance engagement with communities.
