Job Overview: The HR Associate - Recruitment Support Services is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and operates under the direct supervision of the HR Officer. This role is pivotal in administering and implementing HR recruitment support services across the organization. The HR Associate collaborates closely with various colleagues, including those in Programme, Project, and Support Services, to ensure consistent service delivery in recruitment processes. The position requires a client-oriented approach, adherence to governing rules and regulations, and the ability to monitor recruitment plans and KPIs effectively. The HR Associate is responsible for ensuring high-quality work and timely service delivery, particularly in recruitment support to field offices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Associate will coordinate the recruitment and selection processes from start to finish, which includes creating vacancy announcements, supporting preliminary shortlists, administering written tests, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing offers to candidates. They will serve as the HR representative on interview panels, ensuring completeness of hire packages, and guiding clients through recruitment processes. Additionally, the HR Associate will provide guidance on HR-related systems and processes, act as a liaison between units and clients, and support the implementation of gender and diversity initiatives. They will also contribute to HR policy development, organize training initiatives, and support knowledge management projects.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of six years of relevant experience in HR advisory, recruitment, or HR-generalist services within international or national organizations. They should possess experience in using computers and office software, as well as handling web-based management systems. A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent disciplines is desirable and may substitute for some required experience. Completion of secondary education is mandatory.
Educational Background: The educational requirement includes completion of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields being highly desirable. This educational background should ideally be complemented by at least two years of experience in a related role, which can substitute for some of the required years of experience.
