Job Overview:
The position of IT Specialist Microsoft Intune Engineer is situated within the Digital Transformation and IT Solutions (DIGITS) department, which is responsible for driving the digital transformation of GIZ. This department manages the portfolio of IT projects, develops and operates IT systems, and supports the IT needs of both external and internal structures. The role is crucial for ensuring high IT security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, supporting operational data protection management, and enhancing internal processes through digital solutions. The IT Operations department focuses on providing stable, secure, and future-proof infrastructure services, which are essential for modern, effective, and efficient work. The group responsible for Digital Workplace - Client Management is tasked with the strategic alignment, further development, and management of technical workplace equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the IT Specialist Microsoft Intune Engineer include managing, testing, and deploying device configurations and policies for smartphones and notebooks via Microsoft Intune. The role also involves troubleshooting software packaging for Windows, iOS, and Android through Microsoft Intune. The specialist will maintain and develop automation and processes in client management, such as software assignments based on dynamic groups filtered by user properties like department or location. Additionally, the role includes providing self-service options for software distribution, hardware distribution, and password resets through ITSM portals, optimizing bandwidth usage, and reducing network load through centralized management and distribution of updates and software packages. Collaboration in the further development of global Identity and Access Management (IAM) with Microsoft Entra ID as the basis for automation is also part of the job. The specialist will administer the device environment (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android) using Microsoft Intune and Azure Virtual Desktop, including error analysis and resolution. Close cooperation with the IT security team on endpoint management, hardening, vulnerability, and patch management is expected. The role also requires creating scripts based on PowerShell and/or Bash, maintaining documentation, and participating in technical tenders in the client management area.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in computer science, training as an IT specialist in system integration, or equivalent relevant long-term professional experience. Extensive expert knowledge in the design and operation of Microsoft Intune, as well as automated endpoint deployment in a corporate environment, is required. Significant relevant professional experience in product/project management and administration of Microsoft Intune, smartphones, and notebooks is essential. Candidates should have a solid long-term technological expertise with Microsoft Intune and operating systems such as Windows, iOS, Android, and MacOS in an enterprise context. Certifications such as ITILv4 Foundation and ISO27001 are advantageous, and international experience is also beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Graph, PowerShell, Graph Explorer tools, Power Automate, Microsoft Intune, and Entra ID is necessary. Fluent German and good English language skills are mandatory.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in computer science or a related field, or a completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration. Equivalent relevant long-term professional experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.
