Job Overview:
The position of Strategic Consultant for IDB Invest's Financial Products and Services Division (FNP) is designed for a senior consultant with extensive experience in attracting private sector investors for debt security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security issuances in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The consultant will be responsible for developing strategies to enhance IDB Group's capacity to engage with local and international institutional investors, promoting sustainable cross-sector investments. This role involves creating solutions and strategies to support syndication for bond issuances and establishing relationships with key investors and investment banks. The consultant will engage with institutional investors to gather insights on their experiences and expectations in sustainable finance, which will inform IDB Invest's strategy. Additionally, the consultant will benchmark efforts by other international financial institutions (IFIs) to guide IDB Invest's approach and define a roadmap for implementing strategies to develop demand for long-term ESG assets in LAC.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will engage with local and international institutional investors and broker-dealers in target countries, gathering information on their experiences and expectations for investment in sustainable finance. They will interact with FNP technical teams to maximize private capital mobilization and understand internal constraints in structuring attractive products. A benchmarking exercise will be undertaken to inform IDB Invest's approach, and the consultant will define a roadmap for implementing IDB Invest's strategy for ESG assets. They will work with the Debt Capital Markets and Resource Mobilization teams to understand syndication constraints and provide strategic advice to IDB Invest Senior Management. The consultant will communicate findings and collaborate with other ongoing FNP projects, ensuring alignment with local investor placements. Deliverables include a benchmarking exercise, identification of syndication constraints, mapping of investors, and a regional roadmap for long-term strategy implementation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in public policy, economics, government, or similar fields. They should have at least 10 years of combined experience in executive positions within the LAC private sector, government, and multilateral organizations. Proven experience in capital markets, business development, and sustainable finance is essential, along with a solid network of local and international investors and broker-dealers in Latin America and the Caribbean. A deep understanding of the markets in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru is required, along with strong relationship and communication skills.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in public policy, economics, government, or related fields is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of financial products and services in the context of sustainable development and investment.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in executive roles within the private sector, government, and multilateral organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Experience in capital markets, sustainable finance, and business development is critical, as is a proven track record of establishing relationships with institutional investors and regulatory bodies.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese. These language skills are essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders in the region.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as a Products and External Services Consultant (PEC) with a lump sum contract type. The length of the contract is 9 months, and the work location is designated as a residence consultant. Candidates must not have any family members working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab, up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouses.
