Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer for Data Visualization Power BI Capability Support to UN SIOC involves providing critical support to the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Information and Operations Centre (SIOC) within the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in Afghanistan. The primary function of this role is to enhance the design and delivery of visual materials for security presentations, briefings, and reports. The Online Volunteer will engage with SIOC to produce high-quality visual outputs that will aid in delivering clear, professional, and impactful presentations for various security-related platforms. This includes security briefings for newly arrived personnel, visiting Senior UN Officials, and other officials requiring operational or security updates. The role is crucial in ensuring that security information is effectively communicated to enhance the safety and security of UN personnel and operations in Afghanistan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for a range of tasks under the overall leadership of the Principal Security Adviser (PSA). Key responsibilities include: - Developing interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize security incident data and operational information. - Designing statistical graphs, charts (such as pie, bar, and line charts), and spatial visuals for security briefings. - Integrating data from multiple sources into Power BI dashboards and ensuring data connectivity. - Collaborating with SIOC Information to identify specific visualization requirements. - Producing clear and professional visual outputs for senior management briefings and operational updates. - Ensuring data integrity, consistency, and clarity in visualizations. The expected outputs include tailored interactive Power BI dashboards, enhanced visual representation of security data, improved capacity for timely data-driven products, and a final statement of achievements reflecting the volunteer's contributions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in data visualization and experience with Power BI. They should have a solid understanding of data analysis and the ability to create interactive dashboards. Familiarity with security data and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
A degree in data science, information technology, statistics, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications in data visualization or Power BI will be highly regarded.
