The organization is committed to providing meaningful tasks for its employees, fostering personal development, and making a positive impact in the world.
Job Overview: The position is part of the EZ-Trainee program, which is a youth development program initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for German and multilateral development cooperation. The GIZ conducts this program on behalf of the BMZ, training young professionals and leaders in development cooperation through three distinct phases. The second phase involves placement in an international cooperation organization that aligns with the trainee's individual profile. The third phase consists of a five-month assignment at the BMZ in Bonn or Berlin. This internship will provide insights into the management and implementation of the trainee program, as well as the reporting processes to the BMZ and the GIZ's youth development initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will support the Expost survey for the 2023 trainee cohort, which includes evaluating survey results and gaining insights into the management and implementation of the trainee program. The intern will also be involved in reporting to the BMZ and will gain exposure to the GIZ's youth development strategies. This role is crucial for understanding the impact of the trainee program and contributing to its continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a degree program in psychology, sociology, or human resources management. They should have experience in applying qualitative and quantitative survey instruments, possess strong analytical thinking skills, and demonstrate excellent communication abilities. Proficiency in German at the C1 level, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in psychology, sociology, or human resources management. Additionally, candidates who have graduated within the last six months are also eligible to apply.
Experience: Candidates should have prior experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, particularly in the context of surveys. This experience can be gained through academic projects, internships, or relevant work experience in research or human resources.
Languages: Fluency in German at the C1 level is mandatory for this position. While not explicitly stated, proficiency in English or other languages may be considered an asset, particularly in an international organization like GIZ.
Additional Notes: The internship is available from May 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025, and can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis. The monthly stipend for interns is €2,205.04 (gross).
