Job Overview: The FSL Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing food security and livelihood programs in Port Sudan. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects aimed at improving the food security situation of affected populations. The coordinator will work closely with local partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery. The position requires a strong understanding of the local context, including socio-economic factors affecting food security, and the ability to adapt programs to meet the needs of the community. The FSL Coordinator will also be expected to provide technical guidance and support to field staff, ensuring that all activities align with the organization's mission and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of food security and livelihood programs in Port Sudan.
Conduct assessments to identify the needs of the target population and develop appropriate interventions.
Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure they are meeting objectives and making necessary adjustments.
Collaborate with local partners and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
Prepare and submit reports on program progress and challenges to senior management.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in agriculture, development studies, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be an advantage in the selection process.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in food security and livelihoods programming, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience working in Sudan or similar contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage and will be considered a strong asset for this position.
