Job Overview: The position of Asistencia técnica asignación estructuras Socioeconómicas RSH involves providing technical assistance for the assignment of structures to gather socioeconomic information from households as part of a broader project aimed at addressing poverty and inequality in Guatemala. The consultant will be expected to work closely with the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) and UNDP to implement the Intersectoral Strategy of the Government for tackling poverty and inequality. The role requires a deep understanding of socioeconomic data collection methodologies and the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform policy decisions. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring that the data collection process is conducted ethically and in accordance with established guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive plan for the socioeconomic data collection process, including identifying target households and determining the appropriate methodologies for data gathering.
Collaborate with MIDES and UNDP to ensure alignment with national strategies and objectives.
Train and supervise field staff involved in the data collection process to ensure high-quality data is gathered.
Analyze the collected data to identify trends and insights related to poverty and inequality in the target regions.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations based on the data analysis.
Engage with stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders, to share findings and advocate for evidence-based policy changes.
Ensure compliance with ethical standards and data protection regulations throughout the data collection and analysis process.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to MIDES in the implementation of the socioeconomic data collection strategy.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in socioeconomic research and data collection methodologies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish.
Experience working with government agencies or international organizations is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
Familiarity with the socioeconomic context of Guatemala and the challenges related to poverty and inequality.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in data analysis or research methodologies will be considered an asset.
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in socioeconomic research, data collection, and analysis. Experience in working with governmental or international organizations on similar projects is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English is considered a plus, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and access to additional resources.
Additional Notes: This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to last for the duration of the project, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. The consultant will be required to work full-time and may need to travel to various regions within Guatemala for data collection purposes.
