Job Overview:
The qualitative research consultant will play a crucial role in the Disrupting Harm project, which aims to understand the extent of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation and abuse of children. This position involves conducting qualitative research with frontline service workers and justice professionals in North Macedonia, focusing on their experiences with cases of technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse. The consultant will be responsible for preparing research protocols, conducting interviews, and analyzing data to contribute to the development of effective policies and programs that protect children in the digital space.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties include participating in training on research methods, developing a sampling and recruitment plan, conducting pilot interviews, and managing participant recruitment. They will conduct in-depth qualitative interviews with a target of 20 participants, handle safeguarding incidents, and ensure ethical standards are maintained throughout the research process. The consultant will also engage in thematic analysis, draft a national report summarizing findings, and integrate feedback into the final report.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in social sciences, anthropology, psychology, social work, public health, or a related field. A first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. A minimum of three years of professional experience in qualitative research design and execution is required, along with demonstrated experience in North Macedonia's social context and familiarity with qualitative data analysis software.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in relevant fields is required. A first university degree in a relevant field combined with two additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of relevant professional experience in designing and conducting qualitative research, with a strong emphasis on experience in North Macedonia. Familiarity with the local context and demonstrated experience in conducting qualitative interviews and analysis is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Macedonian and English is mandatory. Knowledge of other local languages is considered desirable.

This is a deliverable-based consultancy contract, and the consultant is expected to work primarily online with occasional in-person interviews in North Macedonia.
