Job Overview: The Consultant for Social Behavior Change (SBC) will play a crucial role in coordinating online and offline social listening, digital engagement, and social media strategies to support SBC interventions. The consultant will work under the supervision of the SBC Specialist (P3) and collaborate closely with other team members and sections. The primary responsibilities include monitoring social media, rumor tracking, and managing online listening initiatives. The consultant will be expected to design and implement evidence-based social media campaigns, produce systematic reports, and ensure effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to analyzing trends and content, as well as the ability to adapt strategies based on findings. The consultant will also be responsible for synchronizing content across various UNICEF platforms to ensure effective message dissemination.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate UNICEF's offline and online social media monitoring and rumor management system in collaboration with MISAU social listening working group and regional office initiatives. Produce monthly reports and analyses of the information collected through social listening exercises.
Design and implement evidence-based social media campaigns to support SBC interventions, ensuring systematic reporting on campaign effectiveness.
Promote SBC content through the Internet of Good Things (IoGT) platform, conducting polls and producing monthly reports on user engagement.
Collaborate with the SBC officer to design SMS Biz polls for evidence collection to inform SBC interventions.
Monitor and systematize data from various digital platforms, including the Kobo application, to adjust SBC interventions effectively.
Disseminate results and findings from SBC digital campaigns to UNICEF programs and relevant government institutions and partners.
Training in social media management, digital monitoring, or business analytics is essential.
At least 5 years of proven experience in SBC, social media monitoring, analysis, or digital listening.
Experience in designing and implementing interventions related to rumor management and misinformation.
Excellent writing, planning, and coordination skills, with a proven ability to work independently.
Previous experience with UNICEF (HQ or regional offices) is an added advantage.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Social Science, Statistics, Communications, Marketing, Data Science, or Knowledge Management. Additional training in social media management or data science technical competencies is highly desirable.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in social behavior change, social media monitoring, analysis, or digital listening. Candidates should have a strong background in designing and implementing interventions focused on rumor management and misinformation, demonstrating a proven ability to analyze data and trends effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory, both verbal and written. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: The position is a consultancy role with a timeline extending until March 2025, with specific deliverables due at the end of each month leading up to that date. The consultant will not be considered a staff member under the UN regulations and will not receive benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance. The selected candidate is responsible for their tax liabilities and must ensure valid visa and health insurance for the contract duration. Additionally, candidates must confirm their fully vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
