Job Overview:
The Education and Child Protection Officer will provide technical, managerial, and operational leadership to deliver Child Protection and Education results within the humanitarian response context. The role involves conducting situation assessments, providing technical assistance to authorities, ensuring effective coordination among education partners, supporting program monitoring and reporting, and leading design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation. The Officer will also act as a focal point for partnerships with implementing partners and supervise the education and child protection teams in the Boa Vista Office, particularly in relation to the Venezuelan migration crisis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct and update situation assessments and analyses related to education and child protection.
- Provide technical assistance to municipal and state authorities, service providers, and partners.
- Ensure effective coordination among education and child protection partners.
- Support program design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Elaborate donor proposals and reports.
- Act as a focal point for partnerships with implementing partners.
- Provide technical supervision to the education and child protection teams in the Boa Vista Office.
- Support the education team working on the Venezuelan migration crisis.
- Promote an integrated action plan with education and child protection initiatives. 1
- Collaborate with local authorities and partners to ensure national coordination.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Rights, Education, Psychology, Law, International Relations, Social Work, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Communication, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience in humanitarian or emergency response focusing on education and/or child protection interventions.
- Experience in articulating with state and municipal governments and civil society organizations.
- Solid knowledge of program management and ability to facilitate interagency processes.
- Experience with UN and International Organizations is desirable.
- Experience working with indigenous populations is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Database is an asset.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Rights, Education, Psychology, Law, International Relations, Social Work, Social Sciences, Anthropology, or Communication is required. A Master’s degree in these fields is considered an asset.
Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant field experience in humanitarian or emergency response, particularly in education and child protection interventions. Experience working with state and municipal governments and civil society organizations is also required.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory. Knowledge of Spanish is considered an asset.
