Job Overview: The Reintegration Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the reintegration process of returnees from various European and African countries. This position requires a proactive individual who can assist in the development and implementation of listening and speaking sessions, as well as various reintegration projects that cater to individual, collective, and community needs. The role involves maintaining a statistical table to monitor returns, communicating updates to supervisors, and supporting returnees in obtaining necessary reintegration assistance. The Reintegration Assistant will also be responsible for coordinating with relevant authorities and service providers to ensure effective migrant assistance operations. This position is vital in addressing the vulnerabilities faced by returnees and ensuring their successful reintegration into society.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the reintegration process of returnees from European and African countries.
Provide general assistance to the Senior Project Assistant and project team in developing and implementing listening and speaking sessions and reintegration projects.
Establish and continuously update a statistical table of returns under monitoring.
Communicate statistical tables to hierarchy monthly for monitoring service charges and propose resolutions for inconsistencies on the MiMOSA platform.
Support the supervisor and procurement unit in obtaining pro forma invoices from potential suppliers.
Assist returnees in obtaining reintegration assistance.
Support the supervisor in administrative, financial, and procurement tasks related to reintegration assistance, adhering to internal procedures.
Create and maintain a filing system for receipts and records, ensuring they are verified, filed, and updated.
Assist in coordinating migrant assistance operations with relevant authorities, partners, and service providers. 1
Conduct periodic field visits to assist in setting up and monitoring projects for Senegalese returnees. 1
Perform any other tasks assigned within the Unit.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in law, sociology, or a related field from a recognized academic institution, with three (3) years of relevant experience in return and reintegration, or a Certificate of completion of secondary education with five (5) years of professional experience in related fields.
Experience in effectively assisting actions with other implementing partners.
Professional experience in applying migration, cooperation, and development knowledge in an international organization context is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, and SharePoint.
Excellent skills in managing vulnerable cases, particularly for people on the move.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in law, sociology, or a related field from an accredited institution. Alternatively, candidates with a secondary education certificate and five years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: The position requires three years of relevant experience in the field of return and reintegration for candidates with a Bachelor's degree. For those with a secondary education certificate, five years of professional experience in related fields is necessary. Experience in collaborating with implementing partners and applying migration knowledge in an international context is highly valued.
Languages: A perfect command of French and the local language is required for this position. Additionally, a good command of spoken and written English is essential. Proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Senegal will be considered. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary government authorizations.
