Job Overview:
The Sub-Regional Project Associate (DTM REMAP) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) REMAP project. This position involves data generation and assisting with the production of various reports. The associate will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Sub Regional Project Officer (DTM). The role requires close collaboration with the Senior Regional Project Manager based in IOM’s Global Data Institute in Berlin, Germany. The associate will assist in consolidating project progress reports from DTM REMAP country teams in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and will draft specific inputs for background notes, information sheets, and presentations. The position also entails providing technical and logistical assistance for the rollout and institutionalization of DTM REMAP operations at both national and sub-regional levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Sub-Regional Project Associate include:
  • Supporting the implementation of the DTM REMAP project through data generation and report production.
  • Assisting in the consolidation of project progress reports from country teams in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
  • Drafting inputs for background notes, information sheets, and presentations.
  • Providing technical and logistical assistance for the rollout and institutionalization of DTM REMAP operations.
  • Drafting specific inputs for the development of DTM methodologies, workplans, data collection tools, and training materials.
  • Participating in monitoring, cleaning, and processing DTM REMAP data.
  • Assisting with data analysis to support reporting requirements.
  • Liaising with relevant national stakeholders in coordination with management.
  • Supporting quality control of project outputs by maintaining accurate records of activity reports. 1
  • Organizing national and sub-regional project briefings, data seminars, and visibility events. 1
  • Proofreading and formatting DTM REMAP documents and reports. 1
  • Providing administrative and logistical assistance for workshops and trainings. 1
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master’s degree in Migration studies, Political or Social Science, Business Administration, International Relations, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, a University degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Migration studies, Political or Social Science, Business Administration, International Relations, Law, or a related field. A University degree in these fields combined with two years of relevant professional experience is also acceptable. The educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
Candidates should have experience in DTM data monitoring, cleaning, and analysis. Experience in developing, proofreading, and/or editing DTM reports is essential. Additionally, experience in donor liaison and reporting, as well as familiarity with DTM reporting, is advantageous. Proficiency in using Adobe Indesign and experience in IOM liaison at global, regional, and cross-regional levels are also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, both oral and written. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish) and/or Russian is considered an advantage. The proficiency of the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as a Special Short Term Graded contract, with an initial duration of six months and the possibility of extension. Internationally recruited professional staff are required to be mobile. Any offer made to the candidate is subject to funding confirmation. This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar positions for a period of 24 months. Candidates must be medically fit for appointment and meet any residency or visa requirements. Vaccination against COVID-19 is required for individuals hired on or after 15 November 2021, subject to verification during the medical clearance process.
