Job Overview: The HR Associate - Recruitment Support Services is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and operates under the direct supervision of the HR Officer - Recruitment Support Services. This role is crucial for administering and implementing HR recruitment support services across the organization. The HR Associate collaborates closely with Programme, Project, and Support Services colleagues to manage UNOPS and partner personnel globally, ensuring consistent service delivery in recruitment processes. The position requires a client-oriented approach, adherence to governing rules and regulations for HR management, and the ability to monitor recruitment plans and KPIs effectively. The HR Associate is responsible for ensuring high-quality work and timely service delivery, particularly in recruitment support to field offices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Associate's duties include coordinating the recruitment and selection processes from start to finish, which involves creating vacancy announcements, supporting preliminary shortlists, administering written tests, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing offers to candidates. The HR Associate serves as the HR Representative on interview panels, reviews hire packages for completeness, and ensures compliance with recruitment policies. Additionally, the role involves providing guidance on HR systems and processes, advising hiring managers, and supporting the implementation of gender and diversity initiatives. The HR Associate also contributes to HR policy development, organizes training initiatives, and supports knowledge management projects.
Required Qualifications: The position requires completion of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent disciplines being desirable. A minimum of six years of relevant experience in HR advisory, recruitment, or HR-generalist services is required, along with experience in office software and web-based management systems. Full knowledge of English is essential, and knowledge of French is highly desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field being preferred. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of HR management and recruitment processes.
Experience: The HR Associate position requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience in an international or national organization, specifically in providing HR advisory, recruitment, or HR-generalist services. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience with computers and office software packages, as well as experience in handling web-based management systems.
