Job Overview: The Internship Programme of Human Resources at FAO aims to attract talented young individuals who are motivated to share their innovative ideas and research experience in the fields related to FAO's work. Interns will have the opportunity to supplement their academic knowledge with practical work assignments, contributing to FAO's mission of transforming agri-food systems for better production, nutrition, environment, and life. Interns will report to assigned supervisors and will be involved in various fields of work based on their profiles and the organization's needs, thus gaining valuable experience in an international and multicultural environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will perform functions as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office prior to the assignment. Responsibilities may include conducting research, assisting in project implementation, supporting data collection and analysis, and contributing to the development of reports and presentations. Interns are expected to engage actively in team discussions, share insights, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve organizational goals. They will also be involved in various tasks that align with FAO's strategic objectives and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited educational institution. They should specialize in a field relevant to FAO's mission and work. A working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required, and knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset. Educational Background: Candidates must have educational qualifications obtained from institutions recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
