Job Overview:
The FAO Regular Volunteer position is designed for individuals who wish to contribute their skills and efforts towards the mission of FAO. Volunteers will be assigned to a field relevant to FAO's mission and will report to an assigned supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the FAO Regular Volunteer include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in the implementation of projects and initiatives related to food security and agricultural development.
  • Conducting research and analysis in relevant fields to support FAO's mission.
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Participating in meetings and contributing to discussions on project progress and challenges.
  • Preparing reports and documentation as required by the supervisor.
  • Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to promote FAO's initiatives and gather feedback.
  • Supporting the organization of events, workshops, and training sessions related to food security and agriculture.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor that align with FAO's mission and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Knowledge of a second FAO language will be considered an asset.
  • Candidates must be nationals of FAO member countries.
  • Candidates should be aged 18 or older.
  • Ability to adapt to an international multicultural environment and possess good communication skills. Candidates should also adhere to FAO's core competencies, which include results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.
