Job Overview:
The Fellow position is designed to attract individuals, typically PhD students, researchers, and professors, who possess advanced technical knowledge and experience relevant to the fields of the FAO. The fellows will engage in specialized learning objectives while contributing their expertise through time-bound arrangements with FAO. The assignments will align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework, focusing on transforming agri-food systems to enhance production, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and overall quality of life, ensuring that no one is left behind. The fellow will report to an assigned supervisor and will be placed in various fields of work based on their profile and the organization's needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The fellow will perform tasks as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office. Responsibilities may include conducting research, analyzing data, contributing to project development, and supporting the implementation of FAO initiatives. The fellow is expected to collaborate with other team members, participate in meetings, and contribute to reports and presentations. The fellow will also be involved in knowledge sharing and capacity building activities, ensuring that their work aligns with FAO's mission and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a graduate or post-graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) or be enrolled in a PhD program at a recognized educational institution at the time of application. FAO only considers higher educational qualifications from institutions accredited by the World Higher Education Database (WHED). Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of relevant working or research experience in one of the fields of the Organization. They must also demonstrate the ability to adapt to an international multicultural environment and possess strong communication skills.

Educational Background:
A graduate or post-graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) is required, or candidates must be enrolled in a PhD program at a bona fide educational institution. The educational qualifications must be from an institution recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant working or research experience in fields pertinent to the FAO's mission. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to the organization's goals and objectives.

Languages:
A working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is mandatory. Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate and collaborate within the organization.
