Job Overview:
The position of Coordinateur.trice Logistique is crucial within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team of SI in Cameroon. Reporting directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director, the Logistics Coordinator will work closely with the program, finance, and human resources departments, both in coordination and on the ground. The primary objective of this role is to oversee the logistical activities of the mission to ensure the smooth execution of programs. This includes establishing and maintaining logistical procedures and tools, ensuring compliance and proper use, and guaranteeing the quality of procurement processes across the mission. The Logistics Coordinator will also participate in defining the mission's strategy, drafting project proposals, and assessing the resources needed for SI's activities. Additionally, the role involves supporting the Country Director in operational security management and serving as a liaison between the headquarters and the mission regarding logistical matters. The position presents challenges such as guiding teams in understanding and implementing internal procedures and driving continuous improvement in logistical dimensions of the mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the logistical activities of the mission to ensure effective program implementation.
  • Establish and maintain logistical procedures and tools, ensuring adherence and proper usage.
  • Guarantee the quality and execution of procurement files across the mission, particularly through mastery of the Link software.
  • Participate in defining the mission's strategy and drafting project proposals.
  • Support the Country Director in operational security management.
  • Facilitate communication between headquarters and the mission regarding logistics.
  • Assist logistics colleagues in mastering tools such as Link software, budget tracking, and fuel management.
  • Support the structuring of the logistics department in coordination with field bases.

  • Ensure compliance with donor procurement procedures and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced education in logistics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of logistical processes, including procurement procedures of major donors.
  • Knowledge of logistics procedures related to framework contracts and cash transfers.
  • Proficiency in Link software or equivalent systems.
  • Ability to enhance skills and provide functional support to team members.
  • Strategic thinking and a comprehensive view of logistics to optimize departmental sizing.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between different bases.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a higher education degree in logistics or a related field. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of logistics management in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in logistics roles. This experience should include familiarity with the operational challenges faced in humanitarian missions and the ability to navigate complex logistical environments.

Languages:
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
  • Operational proficiency in English is also required, enabling effective communication in diverse environments.

  • The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, plus a monthly per diem of USD 60
  • SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a work-leave system is implemented, allowing for breaks every three months, with additional rest days accrued. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and optical care, and vaccinations.
