Duties and Responsibilities:
The Country Director will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• Analyzing the humanitarian context and adapting NRC's programs to ensure relevance to the evolving situations in Cameroon, CAR, and the Lake Chad Basin.
• Prioritizing continuous improvement and innovation to maintain the highest quality of humanitarian and protection programming.
• Motivating and coaching staff to create effective teams, focusing on building an empowered Country Management Group.
• Promoting accountability and adherence to the highest ethical standards, including safeguarding and the Humanitarian Principles.
• Leading all NRC advocacy efforts in the country and contributing to regional and global advocacy initiatives.
• Developing and enforcing policies to promote diversity within the organization.
• Serving as a proactive member of the Regional Management Team, fostering collaboration with other Country Offices and the Regional office.
• Engaging actively with the Nigeria and Chad Country Offices to ensure holistic advocacy and programming in response to the Lake Chad Basin crisis.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Country Director position must possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Manager or Country Director role within a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Proven experience working in complex and volatile environments, demonstrating the ability to navigate challenges effectively.
• Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, showcasing successful program delivery and impact.
• Strong leadership skills and a clear understanding of personal leadership style and profile.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.
• A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Country Director role includes a relevant degree in humanitarian studies, international relations, social sciences, or a related field.
