Job Overview:
The Community Mobilization Program Manager will oversee WASH programs in the Rakhine region, specifically in PKT and STW. The role involves addressing challenges such as limited access to camps and remote working conditions. The manager will evaluate the current team and methodologies, develop a capacity-building plan, and create adapted methodologies focusing on behavior change. Close monitoring of activity implementation and proposing tools for improvement will also be key responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the technical capabilities of the team and the methodologies currently implemented in the WASH programs.
  • Develop a comprehensive capacity-building plan for the team to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
  • Create and adapt methodologies that focus on behavior change to improve community engagement and program outcomes.
  • Monitor the implementation of activities closely, providing recommendations for improvement and necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with SI's security protocols while working in a challenging environment.
  • Collaborate with local partners and stakeholders to enhance program reach and effectiveness.
  • Report on program progress and challenges to the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Coordination team based in Yangon.
  • Engage in regular communication with the team to foster a supportive and productive work environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • At least a bachelor's degree, preferably a master's degree in public health or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within the humanitarian sector.
  • Strong technical skills in behavior change methodologies and capacity building.
  • Proven ability to review and recommend standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Autonomy and good analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to adapt methodologies according to the context and needs of the community.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a bachelor's degree, with a preference for those holding a master's degree in public health or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure a strong understanding of the principles and practices relevant to WASH programs and community mobilization.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in roles that involve community mobilization, WASH programs, and capacity building. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in challenging environments and managing teams effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with international partners. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Myanmar would be advantageous but is not mandatory.

  • The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2365 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. The organization implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates are provided with a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Sittwe may be limited, with fewer market and restaurant options available.
