The FAO Investment Centre (CFI) operates in over 120 countries, providing investment and finance solutions to improve agrifood investment quality and quantity. The Centre collaborates with various stakeholders, including governments, financing institutions, the private sector, and research institutions, to enhance agrifood systems. The FAO Investment Centre's work encompasses strategic investment planning, public and private investment, innovative finance, and capacity development for investment programs.

Job Overview:
The Investment Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in providing technical advice and capacity development in investment operations related to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security, nutrition, agriculture, rural development, and climate change. This position involves working closely with governments and international financial institutions to design and implement investment strategies that mobilize resources for sustainable agrifood systems. The specialist will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams, advising on policy development, and ensuring that investment operations align with the FAO Strategic Framework. The role requires a strong focus on collaboration with various stakeholders to promote inclusive and sustainable food systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Investment Operations Specialist will lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams to assist governments in identifying, assessing, and preparing investment operations in food security, nutrition, agriculture, and related fields. Responsibilities include leading implementation support and final evaluations of investment operations, advising on the preparation of studies and strategies, and formulating national investment plans. The specialist will also develop monitoring and evaluation strategies, prepare reports for government and financing partners, and promote international cooperation to create new investment opportunities. Additional duties include advocating best practices, providing technical expertise at international meetings, and performing other related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in relevant fields such as economics, agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, or international relations. They should have between one to ten years of relevant experience in agricultural or rural investment operations, including feasibility studies and implementation in developing countries. A working knowledge of English, French, or Spanish is required, with limited knowledge of one of the other two languages or Arabic, Chinese, or Russian considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A university degree in economics, agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, agribusiness management, natural resource management, irrigation engineering, or related fields is essential for this position. The specific educational background may vary depending on the profile being applied for, but it should align with the technical focus of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of one year and up to ten years of relevant experience in conducting analytical studies in the agricultural or rural sector. Languages:
