Job Overview:
The Outreach Assistant position is situated within the Public Information and Outreach Section (PIOS) of the ICC, specifically under the Outreach Unit. The primary function of this role is to facilitate communication and outreach efforts related to the Court's activities, ensuring that information is accessible to affected communities and stakeholders. The Outreach Assistant will be responsible for compiling and processing information requests, providing administrative support, and maintaining the Outreach Unit's online presence. This role is crucial in promoting understanding of the Court's mandate and activities, thereby garnering support from various audiences, including victims, legal communities, and the media. The Outreach Assistant will work closely with field officers and other units within PIOS to ensure effective communication strategies are implemented and that feedback from communities is addressed appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Outreach Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
  • Compiling and processing information requests from countries related to the Court's situations, including frequently asked questions and outreach operations.
  • Assisting in the strategic planning, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of outreach activities.
  • Providing administrative and logistical support to the Outreach Unit, including managing human resources, budget preparation, and monitoring expenditures.
  • Handling procurement processes, financial forms, and official travel claims.
  • Managing correspondence received from the field and ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
  • Maintaining the Outreach Unit's profile page on the ICC website, intranet, and SharePoint, ensuring that information is current and accessible.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a diploma of secondary education. Additionally, a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in communication, law, international relations, outreach, public information, or external relations is required. Experience at an international level is desirable, indicating a familiarity with global communication practices and outreach strategies. Candidates should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to analyze and prevent potential communication issues, and the capacity to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a diploma of secondary education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the complexities of communication and outreach in an international context. Further education in fields related to communication, law, or international relations may enhance a candidate's qualifications but is not explicitly required.

Experience:
