Job Overview:
The CHARGE GENRE PSEA position is crucial for the development and implementation of the Protection against Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (PSEA) policy within the organization. The role involves working closely with the Director of International Programs and Operations to ensure that gender considerations are integrated into the humanitarian strategy of the SIF. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the efficient implementation of interventions that take gender into account, thereby enhancing the organization's overall effectiveness in addressing gender-related issues. This position also requires active participation in positioning the SIF on gender-related matters, ensuring that the organization remains a leader in this critical area of humanitarian work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the PSEA policy effectively within the organization.
- Strengthen gender components in the SIF's humanitarian strategy.
- Ensure that all interventions are gender-sensitive and consider the specific needs of different populations.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to promote gender equality and protection against abuse.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of gender-related interventions and policies.
- Provide training and support to staff on gender issues and PSEA.
- Participate in relevant meetings and forums to advocate for gender-sensitive practices.
- Conduct research and analysis on gender issues to inform program development.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to gender and PSEA initiatives. 1
- Engage with external partners and donors to promote the organization's gender agenda.
Required Qualifications:
- A Master's degree (Bac+5) in fields such as Political Science, Development, Socio-Economics, or a related area.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in gender issues and PSEA.
- Strong knowledge of the main themes addressed by the SIF, particularly in relation to gender.
- Familiarity with safeguarding principles and PSEA practices.
- Theoretical knowledge of institutional donors and mastery of their procedures (ECHO, UN Agencies, State Cooperation, Foundations, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree (Bac+5) in relevant fields such as International Relations, Development Studies, or Social Sciences. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of gender issues and the humanitarian context in which the SIF operates.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on gender issues and PSEA. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in humanitarian settings and implementing gender-sensitive programs.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is essential for communication with international partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, but English proficiency is crucial for this role.
Additional Notes:
This is a full-time fixed-term contract (CDD) for 6 months, with immediate availability required. The position is classified as a managerial role with a day-rate system. Employees are entitled to 15 recovery days as part of the day-rate system. Additional benefits include meal vouchers, competitive health insurance, and a reimbursement of 75% of public transport costs (valid until December 31, 2024, according to current legislation). The role may require field travel, accounting for approximately 30% of the time.
