Job Overview:
The Livelihood Officer will work under the supervision of the FCSP and FD Manager, taking on a crucial role in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of livelihood-related activities within the project. This position requires active engagement with relevant partners and stakeholders to ensure integrated and need-based service delivery. The officer will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual plans and reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and government regulations. The role emphasizes the importance of collaboration with women and girls in vulnerable positions, ensuring their active involvement in project execution and monitoring.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with partners and government stakeholders to prepare detailed annual and quarterly plans for livelihood-related project activities, ensuring their implementation aligns with project objectives.
  • Facilitate the active involvement of project targets, particularly women and girls, as primary stakeholders in all project execution and monitoring.
  • Produce and submit quality monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports based on donor and government requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day implementation and supervision of livelihood-related project activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, work plans, M&E plans, and budget allocations.
  • Ensure the project meets planned targets and that the budget is efficiently utilized, maintaining accountability to SOS CVE, project partners, and donors.
  • Participate in the identification of target beneficiaries using agreed socio-economic criteria.
  • Ensure project implementation addresses the priority needs of the community, particularly for women and girls, in line with SOS CVE principles and strategic plans.
  • Work closely with local women-led CSOs, government, and communities to implement and jointly monitor livelihood activities.
  • Ensure the quality and relevance of livelihood interventions, making them gender-responsive. 1
  • Collaborate with the Program coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator and stakeholders to conduct regular supervision and communicate findings to improve livelihood strategies. 1
  • Document and share key lessons, case stories, and achievements for learning and development. 1
  • Build constructive and collaborative working relationships with partners. 1
  • Map private sectors for linking skilled women and girls to wage employment and engage government offices to facilitate self-employment. 1
  • Facilitate capacity-building training for key livelihood service providers. 1
  • Support women’s Village Saving and Loan Associations (VSLAs) to enhance leadership and capacity. 1
  • Organize gender discussion groups for saving group members to encourage women's economic participation. 1
  • Engage with stakeholders to strengthen access to empowerment services for women and girls. 1
  • Participate in awareness-raising sessions and capacity-building training related to Child and Youth Safeguarding (CYS). 1
  • Support children and young people in understanding CYS risks and protection mechanisms. 2
  • Report any CYS suspicion, concern, allegation, or incident immediately, following established reporting procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA/MA degree in livelihoods, development studies, economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in livelihood projects or similar roles, demonstrating professional and technical expertise relevant to the duties and responsibilities outlined.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a BA or MA degree in livelihoods, development studies, economics, or a related field, ensuring a solid educational foundation for the responsibilities of the Livelihood Officer.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in livelihood projects or similar roles. Candidates should have professional and technical experience that aligns with the duties and responsibilities of the position, demonstrating a proven track record in the field.
