Job Overview:
The position of Senior Officer for Community-Based Nutrition Program is crucial in addressing the high stunting rates in Afghanistan, where 41% of children are affected. The role involves providing technical support and oversight to implementing partners in the rollout of the Community-Based Nutrition Program (CBNP), which aims to improve child nutrition through community mobilization and education. The officer will work closely with the Public Nutrition Directorate (PND) of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and various stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of nutrition services across all 34 provinces. This includes coordinating efforts, managing partnerships, and facilitating the integration of nutrition programs with other health initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Officer will be responsible for organizing and leading community-based nutrition technical working groups, managing partnerships with the MoPH and other stakeholders, and participating in various review and coordination meetings. The officer will monitor and supervise community-based nutrition activities, ensuring quality implementation and competency at all levels. Additionally, the role involves conducting assessments and research related to the CBNP, reviewing reports from implementing partners, and ensuring the availability of necessary community nutrition supplies. The officer will also document lessons learned from the program and communicate updates to relevant staff and NGOs. Field visits for monitoring and supervision of training programs will also be part of the responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of an MD with a diploma in nutrition and at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of nutrition.
