Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator serves as the delegated director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for a specific region within Myanmar where Solidarités International operates. This role involves proposing a regional strategy that aligns with the geopolitical and humanitarian context and ensuring its implementation once validated. The Field Coordinator is responsible for overseeing project execution in accordance with the organization's charter and internal procedures, mobilizing necessary resources, and managing team security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security in the assigned area. The position also requires coordination with local actors, including UN agencies, local NGOs, and authorities, as well as supervising partnerships with local NGOs, focusing on contractual management and capacity building. The role is particularly challenging due to remote management requirements and the evolving humanitarian context in Kachin, necessitating adaptability in programming and fundraising efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and propose a regional strategy based on the humanitarian context and geopolitical situation.
  • Ensure the implementation of projects in compliance with Solidarités International's charter and internal procedures.
  • Mobilize material and financial resources necessary for program execution.
  • Supervise and coordinate teams in the field, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local actors, including UN agencies, local NGOs, and authorities.
  • Manage partnerships with local NGOs, focusing on capacity building and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct humanitarian context analysis and adapt programming strategies accordingly.
  • Address challenges related to remote management and security constraints.
  • Finalize internal alignment of key grants and consolidate local partnerships. 1
  • Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and impact, making necessary adjustments to strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • University level degree, preferably a Master’s degree in International Affairs, Humanitarian or Development studies.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • 0-2 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Strong technical skills in context and humanitarian analysis, strategic planning, and access and security management.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives and manage change within the organization.
  • Experience in external coordination and partnership management.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university-level degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree in fields related to International Affairs, Humanitarian Studies, or Development Studies. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the strategic planning required for effective program implementation.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on roles that involve strategic planning and program management. Additionally, candidates should have 0-2 years of experience in similar positions, indicating a need for familiarity with the responsibilities and challenges faced by a Field Coordinator in a humanitarian context.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in French and Myanmar/Burmese is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and local communities.
