Job Overview: The Project Coordinator position at the American Heart Association is a full-time role based in the National Center office in Dallas, TX. This position is funded through December 31, 2026, and is integral to the Lifelong Learning and Professional Education Department. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing coordination and project management support, ensuring that various educational programs and initiatives are executed effectively. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include creating and maintaining electronic databases for program activities, coordinating with Program Managers to collect and update information, scheduling meetings, providing agendas, taking notes, and communicating action points. The coordinator will also manage supply stock, coordinate printings and mailings, and handle the packing and shipping of conference materials. Additionally, the role involves initiating purchase orders, checking requisitions in the financial system, paying invoices, and submitting budget transfers. The Project Coordinator will input and follow up on contracts and statements of work in the AHA Legal system and manage file organization using SharePoint. Other duties may be assigned by the Director or other managers as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Project Coordinator position must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years of related professional experience in administrative or project management work is required. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with exceptional customer service abilities, are necessary for success in this role. The ability to prioritize work effectively to balance multiple projects and deadlines is crucial, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Educational Background: While a High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement, a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred. This educational background will provide candidates with a broader understanding of project management principles and practices, which will be beneficial in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
