Job Overview:
The Protection Officer will play a crucial role in the planning, monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up of protection issues affecting Palestine refugees in the Southern West Bank, including areas such as Hebron and Bethlehem. The position involves conducting field visits to assess and report on protection conditions in communities at risk of displacement or affected by military incursions and settler violence. The officer will be responsible for conducting rapid assessments, formulating action plans, and recommending protection cash payments for victims of forced displacement and armed conflict. Additionally, the officer will manage protection cases, prepare monitoring reports, and implement community outreach activities targeting vulnerable groups. The role requires collaboration with other UNRWA programs to enhance refugees' access to services and maintain good working relationships with various partners and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Protection Officer's responsibilities include:
  • Assisting in the planning, monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up of protection issues within the refugee community in Southern West Bank.
  • Conducting frequent field visits to assess and report on protection conditions in at-risk communities.
  • Performing rapid assessments and formulating action plans.
  • Recommending protection cash payments for eligible victims of forced displacement and armed conflict.
  • Case managing protection cases and providing timely progress reports and referrals to specialized services.
  • Conducting field visits to evaluate needs and damages incurred by families affected by military actions.
  • Preparing monitoring reports on security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security incidents and humanitarian issues.
  • Collecting data about beneficiaries from various sources.
  • Implementing community outreach activities targeting vulnerable populations. 1

A driver's license is considered a plus.
