Job Overview:
The position involves a consultancy role focused on reviewing existing digital content for basic education in Namibia. This consultancy is part of the UNESCO-Korean Funds-in-Trust (KFIT) Project, which aims to enhance the quality of education in Namibia through the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The consultant will be responsible for conducting a thorough review of existing digital content, assessing its quality, inclusivity, and alignment with the curriculum, and providing actionable recommendations for improvement. The ultimate goal is to ensure that teachers and learners have access to high-quality digital resources that cater to diverse learning needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key activities, including:
  • Developing an assessment tool to evaluate existing digital content, focusing on aspects such as scope, curriculum alignment, quality, inclusivity, accessibility, and relevance to the Namibian context.
  • Collecting and analyzing data on existing digital content using the assessment tool, and preparing a detailed assessment report that identifies gaps and provides recommendations for further content development.
  • Creating a workflow plan for the development of new digital content, outlining the processes involved, including quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Developing a detailed costed work plan for the creation of digital content.
  • Delivering an inception report that outlines the proposed assessment methodology and work plan, along with the assessment tool, assessment report, workflow plan, and costed work plan as final deliverables.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess an advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in education, technology, instructional design, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in the field of ICT in education is required, with a proven track record in developing and implementing digital learning strategies, designing and evaluating digital learning content, and conducting needs assessments. The candidate should have a strong understanding of current trends and best practices in ICT integration in education, as well as knowledge of curriculum design and development, pedagogical approaches, and assessment strategies. Excellent analytical, reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, and familiarity with the Namibian education system would be an advantage.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have an advanced degree, such as a Master's degree or its equivalent, in relevant fields such as education, technology, instructional design, or a closely related area.
