Job Overview: The Child Protection Case Management Specialist plays a crucial role within the Child Protection Team, focusing on managing Case Management Supervisors and providing technical supervision to the field team. This position is essential for leading the implementation of case management activities and training both the Case Management team and Save the Children partner teams. The Specialist will ensure that interventions are of high quality and that decision-making for high-risk cases is conducted in consultation with the Child Protection Technical Advisor. The role requires regular field visits to monitor activities and adherence to established protocols, as well as collaboration with various departments to enhance service provision.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Child Protection Case Management Specialist include:
Development and technical supervision of case management, ensuring alignment with local systems and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Reviewing and adapting case management tools, including forms and data protection protocols.
Supporting the development of service mapping and referral pathways.
Creating and maintaining a capacity-building plan for the Case Management team and partners.
Providing training and mentoring to Case Management Supervisors and field teams.
Facilitating participation and feedback from children and families in case management activities.
Conducting needs assessments and supporting proposal and budget development.
Monitoring the quality of activities through regular field visits.
Coordinating with other sectors and representing Save the Children in inter-agency forums. 1
Mentoring and coaching staff, organizing technical meetings, and ensuring regular feedback and appraisal processes.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, law, or a related field. Essential qualifications include a strong understanding of child rights and protection in emergencies, as well as experience working with vulnerable families and communities. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with various stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office and a commitment to the organization's values and principles are essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work, sociology, psychology, or law. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of child protection and case management.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least four years of experience in child protection or working with vulnerable populations. This includes a minimum of two years in project management and staff supervision. In-depth experience in training development and delivery, particularly in child protection and case management, is also required.
