Job Title: Donor Visibility and Campaigns
Project Manager
Type of Contract: Consultancy
Division: CAM – Communication, Advocacy and
Marketing Division
Duty Station (City, Country): Home based (relocation to Rome/Italy might be required in the future).
Duration: 11 months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
To promote public engagement and thus influence and increase individual giving while supporting private sector and government funding, the profile of World Food Programme (WFP) and its work must be raised, building the WFP brand as the leading
humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide.
Through strategic projects and campaigns that educate citizens about WFP’s work and, in some cases, their government’s contribution to that work, the Brand-Building and Public Engagement Unit supports the work of our colleagues toward increased
fundraising and
resource mobilization. By increasing brand visibility, deepening brand familiarity and solidifying brand trust, WFP will establish the optimum conditions for fundraising from individuals, governments, and the private sector.
Government partners represent the vast majority of the organization’s overall funding portfolio. Delivering quality visibility to government partners is an important component of relationship management, both as standard and “above standard” visibility initiatives. Together with brand- and cause-awareness campaigns, these projects form a significant and important effort within the Communications, Advocacy and Marketing Division.
Under the supervision of the Head of Marketing, the Project Manager will help develop strategic campaigns and initiatives for WFP with a special focus on donor visibility. The candidate will collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders from within the organization both at HQ, in donor capitals and in WFP operational countries in order to effectively develop and execute the projects. Strong organization and relationship management is key, as is the ability to plan from one end of a project to the other and keep multiple stakeholders aligned and the project timeline on track.
