Established on April 7, 1948, WHO's mission is to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve vulnerable populations. The organization operates in over 150 countries and has a workforce of more than 7,000 employees. WHO's work encompasses a wide range of health issues, including disease prevention, health promotion, and health systems strengthening, with a focus on achieving universal health coverage and addressing health emergencies.
Job Overview: The consultancy aims to synthesize and critically assess the available evidence on how nature-based solutions (NbS) can contribute to the implementation of the One Health approach. Conduct a structured review of peer-reviewed literature and policy reports on NbS applicable for One Health in the WHO European Region, focusing on environmental, human, and animal health outcomes.
Develop an analytical framework and evidence-mapping matrix to organize findings using a One Health systems framework.
Produce a policy analysis report reviewing existing One Health policies to assess alignment and gaps related to NbS.
Draft a complete policy paper integrating the evidence review, analytical framework, and policy analysis, including prioritized recommendations for integrating NbS into One Health implementation.
Prepare a final PowerPoint presentation for dissemination among policymakers.
