Associate, Vaccines Markets
Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization founded in 2002, initially in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Its mission is to save lives and reduce the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries. CHAI works at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector in creating and sustaining high-quality health systems. Over the years, CHAI has expanded its focus beyond HIV to include infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis, as well as non-communicable diseases like cancer and diabetes. The organization operates in 40 countries and is committed to maximizing sustainable impact at scale, ensuring that governments lead the solutions, and sharing learnings globally. CHAI values diversity and inclusion, recognizing that its mission is best advanced by the contributions of individuals with diverse experiences and backgrounds.
Job Overview:
The Associate position within CHAI's Vaccines Markets Team is focused on supporting financing and access for novel TB vaccines in low- and middle-income countries. The role involves assessing and designing market-shaping interventions that enable timely, affordable, and sustainable access to TB vaccines. The Associate will collaborate with global partners, including Gavi and WHO, and CHAI country teams to translate evidence on demand, supply, and country needs into practical solutions that promote equitable access to these vaccines. This position requires a combination of quantitative analysis, structured problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement, reporting to the Senior Program Manager for TB Vaccines. The role may also be offered at a Manager level, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will support CHAI’s work on financing and access for novel TB vaccines by developing high-impact market-shaping interventions that address barriers to access. Responsibilities include leading quantitative and qualitative analyses such as demand forecasting and financing needs assessments, synthesizing complex evidence into clear presentations and reports, cultivating relationships with global health partners and stakeholders, collaborating with CHAI’s global vaccines and TB teams, contributing to donor reporting, and undertaking additional responsibilities as needed to support program and organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in public health, economics, business, finance, or a related field, with strong academic performance. For the Associate level, a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment is required, while the Senior Associate level requires at least 5 years. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to frame complex problems, conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, and develop actionable recommendations. Candidates should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the ability to build relationships with individuals at various seniority levels, and exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a multicultural and remote environment. Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required, along with the ability to use AI tools to enhance analytical work. Availability for up to 20% travel is also necessary.
Educational Background:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in public health, economics, business, finance, or a related field is required, with strong academic performance being a key consideration for candidates.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience for the Associate level or 5 years for the Senior Associate level, ideally in management consulting, private equity, or health financing, demonstrating a track record of success in fast-paced, results-oriented environments.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to convey complex concepts clearly. Additional language skills may be advantageous but are not specified as mandatory.
Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with the possibility of flexible work arrangements across CHAI program countries in Africa, subject to country leadership approval and work authorization. The role may also be offered at a Manager level, depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. CHAI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to fairness and mutual respect in the workplace.
