Job Overview: The position of International Consultant for Field Epidemiology Training Programmes (FETPs) involves providing specialized technical support to the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) to enhance the quality, implementation, and sustainability of FETPs across the region. The consultant will be expected to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives.
Required Qualifications: The position requires an advanced university degree (Master’s level or above) in epidemiology, public health, or a related field from a recognized institution. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure are also important, as is the capacity for tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s level or above) in epidemiology, public health, or a related field. Specialized training in field epidemiology and emergency/humanitarian response is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Languages: Expert knowledge of English is essential for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial but is not explicitly required.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to be part-time for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of remote work. Selected consultants may be deployed to EMR countries for outbreak response as needed. The remuneration is at Band level B, and travel costs are excluded from the budget.
