The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the office's initiatives, including: conducting research and reference searches on issues related to children and armed conflict; participating in meetings with stakeholders and contributing to collaborative projects; attending conferences and meetings, taking notes, and assisting in the preparation of reports and policy documents; preparing and formatting communication materials such as presentations, newsletters, and social media content; supporting outreach and visibility activities for advocacy campaigns; monitoring news articles and social media platforms to share relevant information; assisting in servicing conferences and meetings; and performing administrative tasks as needed. This diverse set of responsibilities will provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of the UN's work in this critical area.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, candidates should be computer literate in standard software such as Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and Teams or similar applications. A keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter are essential.
