Job Overview: The PRO coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator is a pivotal role within Relief International, reporting directly to the Program Quality, Accountability, and Learning Manager at the country office level. This position is responsible for enhancing the quality of programs through the coordination and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) strategies. The MEAL Coordinator will streamline processes and tools to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of all RI projects. The role involves providing technical support, supervision, and guidance to project implementation, ensuring that MEAL systems are suitable and regularly reviewed. The MEAL Coordinator will oversee survey management, strengthen feedback and complaints mechanisms (FCRM), update Indicator Performance Tracking Tables (IPTT), and conduct frequent monitoring visits. Additionally, the position includes building the capacity of MEAL staff through training, mentoring, and supervision, adhering to RI policies and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Coordinator is tasked with ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the PRO project by overseeing all MEAL activities, which include monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning. Key responsibilities include supporting project design with realistic budgeting for MEAL staffing and activities, ensuring the establishment of a comprehensive MEAL plan before project implementation, and assisting in the development of MEAL methodologies and reporting templates. The Coordinator is accountable for conducting end-of-project learning reviews, sharing lessons learned, and organizing lesson-sharing events. They will ensure adherence to MEAL SOPs and guidelines, support timely implementation of MEAL activities, and maintain updated IPTT and FCRM trackers. The role also involves developing and finalizing data collection tools, ensuring timely analysis and reporting of surveys, and conducting reflective practice forums. The Coordinator will manage relationships with various departments and external stakeholders, oversee the recruitment and onboarding of MEAL staff, and provide consistent supervision to enhance staff performance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a BA/BSc in a relevant field such as Social Science, Data Science, Economics, Business, or Engineering, with an MA/MS being a plus. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation of multi-sectoral programming in emergency or post-conflict settings is required, with prior INGO experience preferred. Candidates should have experience in developing and implementing MEAL plans, data analysis, and a thorough understanding of M&E principles and project cycle management processes. Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in MS Office and experience in statistical analysis using software like SPSS or Stata. Experience in designing surveys and developing data collection tools is also necessary, along with excellent communication skills in English. Fluency in English is mandatory, while Arabic is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a BA/BSc in Social Science, Data Science, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MA/MS degree is advantageous but not mandatory. Relevant training or education in these fields is essential to ensure the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to perform effectively in the role.
