Duties and Responsibilities: The Nutrition Content Writer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Editing and ensuring the accuracy of nutrition-related content swiftly and with a high level of precision, maintaining consistency and clarity in alignment with WFP's messaging.
Leading the drafting and quality assurance of various written materials such as speeches, briefing notes, reports, and web content.
Translating complex technical nutrition information into accessible narratives tailored for different audiences, including policymakers and the general public.
Conducting rigorous fact-checking and collaborating with technical experts to ensure the accuracy of all content produced.
Utilizing storytelling techniques to enhance engagement and elevate the experiences of communities served by WFP.
Coaching and mentoring team members to strengthen writing and storytelling capabilities within the Nutrition Service.
Developing content outlines and communication products that reflect inputs from relevant teams and partners.
Supporting advocacy efforts by creating evidence-based content that communicates WFP's nutrition priorities and program results effectively.
Performing additional duties related to outreach and partner communications as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree combined with additional relevant work experience or training may be acceptable. The ideal candidate should have at least six years of professional experience in developing and producing written content, particularly in the areas of nutrition and food security. Strong writing and editing skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of storytelling techniques. Attention to detail, the ability to manage time effectively, and collaborative skills are also critical for success in this role.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for the Nutrition Content Writer position include an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as English, English Literature, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism. Candidates with a first university degree and additional years of related work experience or specialized training may also be considered. Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in writing and producing content related to nutrition and food security.
