Job Overview:
The Logistics Intern position at WFP is designed to support logistics operations through various functions including data management, transport and warehouse monitoring, operational analysis, and planning support. The intern will play a crucial role in collecting and validating operational data, tracking consignments, preparing reports, and contributing to emergency preparedness activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the logistics operations of WFP. These include compiling and cleaning data from operational records, spreadsheets, and partner inputs; tracking consignments from dispatch through receipt; preparing weekly and monthly analyses and visual summaries on service performance; assisting with transport planning and load allocation; supporting reconciliation of operational and financial records; contributing to warehouse and inventory activities; and participating in coordination meetings. The intern will also document recurring workflows and propose practical improvements, including automation or data-visualization solutions. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a recognized undergraduate or graduate program in fields such as supply chain management, logistics, engineering, data science, information systems, statistics, economics, or business administration. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to organize and analyze quantitative information using spreadsheets or similar data-processing tools. Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. Candidates should also be available to work at the duty station and undertake authorized field travel as required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant undergraduate or graduate program. This could encompass disciplines such as supply chain management, logistics, engineering, data science, information systems, statistics, economics, or business administration. Experience:

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is critical in the logistics environment. This internship is for a duration of 8 months and is based in Kigali, Rwanda.
